Plan to Add some Photos

Photos add a lot to any blog. I guess that's obvious. I'm planning to get a new digital camera soon and then to take and add photos here. I'd like to do it while everything is still green and before the grey weather hits. But then fall is a great time to take photos also so I'd like to take some then. I'd like some when all is green and some when the leaves are changing colors. Thank God fall is coming soon! I couldn't stand more heat and humidity. I'm glad I'm not in a tropical country right now.

Global Warming and Korea

Well it's raining hard now. Over the past week we've had a few heavy rains. One day about 5pm I was about to go home and looked outside to see what looked like sideways rain. It was raining so hard and was so windy that the rain was moving sideways. The glass doors to my building are normally kept open. The security guard went to close them and his hat blew off. I decided to take a taxi home and invited a few students to come with me. Taking the bus would mean waiting in that rain and then walking home a few minutes from the bus stop. This summer in Korea was hot, really hot and humid. I realized it was worse than last summer and talked to someone else who agreed. I can't say it was the worst summer ever but I can say it was worse than last. The high humidity made the start of last week unbearable. Two mornings I left my apartment by 8am and went to the air conditioned convenience store to enjoy the cool air. Luckily there are a few tables and chairs to sit and eat/drink....

New Direction for Blog

I have a new mission for this blog. I'd like to tell stories which others haven't. So many sites, blogs on Korea mostly written by English teachers living here. Rather than talk about same thing I'd like to do something different. So the blog is going in a new direction. And will post again soon.

Want to Post More

I would like to be writing more here. I guess I'm not a born blogger. There's a lot about Korea I'd like to say. I want to share one thing now. I met an American teacher living in Seoul who is writing this blog: www.chrisinsouthkorea.blogspot.com and he has a lot more there than I have in mine. He answers a lot of questions foreigners have about Korea. This is the main purpose of most blogs on Korea that I've seen. It's not the main purpose of mine but it's something that I'm happy to be doing with my blog. Next semester I hope to be blogging here more. Questions and comments still welcome. Happy rest of summer.
